Questions

Answers quote the product's real behaviour, including the ones where the honest answer is no.

If I change a supplier price, does last month's profit change?

No. The cost recorded against each order line at the moment it was placed is never rewritten. Editing the product, recalculating the order, importing a price list and running a bulk update all leave it alone.

What happens to a refund issued this month against an order from last month?

It reduces profit this month, on the refund date, for the quantity actually returned. A closed month never changes underneath you.

I refunded €20 as goodwill, with no product behind it. Where does that show up?

As its own line. It is not spread proportionally across unrelated products, because that would move profit between products that had nothing to do with it.

What if I have not entered costs for everything?

The plugin tells you how much of the last 90 days' revenue is standing on lines with no cost, lists the gaps worst-first by how much profit each one is overstating, and lets you fill them in from that screen. It never reports a missing cost as a 100% margin.

Can I enter a cost after the sale?

Yes. It fills in the lines that lacked one, marked as an estimate, and never overwrites a real figure. Estimates can be excluded from every report.

Is this gross or net profit?

Both. Gross profit is revenue less the cost of goods. Net profit also takes off what each parcel cost you and the payment provider's fee, and adds back the delivery the customer paid for — set per shipping method and per gateway in Settings. Landed cost is not included, and costs are static per product: no weighted average, no FIFO. Fixed costs such as rent and salaries are coming to Pro.

Does it handle multiple currencies?

No. Each order's currency is recorded, but figures are summed as one currency, so a shop selling in several will see them added together.

Does it place purchase orders?

No. Pro's replenishment screen says what to order and how much, with the arithmetic shown, and exports the list as a CSV. Suppliers, purchase orders and goods receipts are not part of it yet, and lead time is one global setting rather than per supplier.

Will it slow the shop down?

It adds 4.4 ms to a checkout. The dashboard renders twelve months of 20,000 orders in 39 ms, and the product list uses three queries regardless of page size — with tests that fail the build if those query counts change.

Does it send anything anywhere?

The free plugin does not: no outbound requests and no telemetry, checked by a test that scans its code. Pro talks to Freemius, which sells and licenses it, to check the licence and deliver updates: that carries the licence key, the site's address, and the versions of Pro and its SDK. WordPress and PHP versions and the list of other plugins are optional, and can be switched off on the activation screen. No shop data — orders, customers, products, figures — is ever sent.

I already use another cost plugin.

One-click import from WPFactory Cost of Goods, SkyVerge Cost of Goods and ATUM Inventory Management. Where those plugins recorded what a past order cost at the time, that figure is used — it is better evidence than today's price. Costs you already entered are never overwritten.

Does it work with HPOS?

Yes, from the first line of code. HPOS and legacy order storage are both tested in CI.

What happens to my cost history if I uninstall?

It stays. Deleting everything on uninstall is a setting, off by default, because cost history is the one thing a shop cannot recreate.

What does it cost?

The free plugin costs nothing, has no product limit and never expires. Pro, which adds stock replenishment, is €89 a year for one shop or €179 a year for five. The first hundred founding members can have Pro for one shop for life for a single €199. Prices exclude VAT, which is added at checkout where it applies.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Pro can be tried for 14 days without a card. When the trial ends Pro switches off unless you buy a licence; the free plugin and everything it recorded carry on as before.

How do I get support?

By email, from the people who wrote it, for anyone with a Pro licence or trial. Free users can write too, and the WordPress.org forum will be read once the listing is approved.

What happens when a licence runs out?

Pro switches off a week after the licence ends, and a trial switches off the day it ends. The free plugin keeps working, nothing is deleted, and renewing brings Pro back with every setting where you left it.

Questions

Answers here quote the product’s real behaviour, including the four questions where the honest answer is no. Leave those in. A buyer who finds the limits on the FAQ page trusts the numbers on the rest of the site; one who finds them after installing does not.

Stop finding out when a customer does.

What to order, how many, and the arithmetic behind it — inside the WooCommerce admin you already use.

Not an ERP and not a purchasing suite. Caltru works out what to order; placing the order stays with you. What's deliberately not included
