Caltru

Feature

Profit reporting

Revenue, cost of goods, gross profit and margin — by period and by product, each compared against the period before it.

Reports

Every figure, against the period before it

Revenue, cost of goods, gross profit, margin, refunds, orders and average order — and, once delivery and payment costs are set, net profit with the shipping cost, payment fees and delivery charged behind it.

  • Each headline figure is compared with the equally long period immediately before.
  • Net profit takes off what each parcel cost and the payment provider's fee, and adds back the delivery the customer paid for.
  • Revenue standing on lines with no cost is called out above the figures, rather than counted as profit.
  • Margin is compared in percentage points, not as a percentage of a percentage — 50% to 60% is ten points, not twenty percent.
  • Direction is inverted where falling is the good news: a smaller cost of goods reads as an improvement.
  • No comparison is shown when the previous period was empty, because a jump from nothing to something is not a percentage.
  • Revenue / cost / profit chart, by day, or automatically by month beyond 92 days.
  • Best and worst products. The least profit list excludes products with no recorded cost.
  • Per-category breakdown where each product counts once, under its most specific category, so column totals cannot exceed shop revenue.
  • Presets: today, 7 days, 30 days, this month, last month, this year, custom.

The small decisions are the ones that make a dashboard trustworthy or not.

A least-profit list that includes products with no recorded cost would head a list of losses with the shop‘s least-measured products — they report all revenue as profit, so they sort to the top for the wrong reason. They are excluded, and counted separately where they belong.

Reports

Per product, and exportable exactly as filtered

Units, revenue, cost of goods, profit, margin, and revenue with no cost behind it.

  • Search by name or SKU; filter by category; or filter to only the problems — missing costs, estimates, loss-makers.
  • Every column sortable server-side, with paging.
  • CSV export of exactly what is on screen, filters included.
  • Variations folded into their parent, or listed separately.

Export writes what the screen shows. If three filters are on, the file has three filters applied — not the whole catalogue, and not a different subset that has to be reconciled later.
